  • What is the Best Dog Park in Dallas?

    by Andrew Borgschulte

Today, we are looking for the top dog park in Dallas, TX. There are a lot of factors to consider and many of these parks offer a range of amenities for all types of dogs and their owners.

A photo of downtown Dallas. Dallas is home to many dog parks and dog friendly areas.

    NorthBark Dog Park

This park is just over 22 acres and is located in far north Dallas. NorthBark has everything your pup could want including a dog beach adjacent to the lake, a large loop trail, and even a doggy shower. Despite its less than central location, this is possibly the best dog park Dallas has to offer.

There are also pavilions and picnic table for the humans to relax as well as a small dog area and a pet waste station.

    Bark Park Central

This dog park is in the heart of Deep Ellum with great views of downtown. You and your four-legged friend are within walking distance of great dog-friendly restaurants and bars.

Bark Park Central is a 1.2 acre off-leash dog park, including a drinking bowl, dog shower, a pet waste area, and plenty of shade.

    Wagging Tail Dog Park

This park, also located in north Dallas, offers nearly 7 acres of off-leash play. One unique feature is an observation deck 35 feet above White Rock Creek that offers incredible views of a waterfall.

Wagging Tail was also the first dog park designed by the City of Dallas. Finally, they also offer picnic areas, shade, a small dog area, and plenty of parking.

    Main Street Garden

This park is located in Downtown Dallas and is in itself a wonderful urban park. In addition, there is a dog run for off-leash fun and a stage and garden shelters featuring digital art.

In an area just under 2 acres, this park is on the smaller side, but its central location more than makes up for it.

    White Rock Lake Dog Park

White Rock was renovated in 2015 and features 3 acres of off-leash space. This puppy paradise includes views of the lakes and trails, benches and picnic tables, and a small dog area.

The big attraction is, of course, the lake (the largest in Dallas) itself which is great for cooling off on a hot summer day. Like many others run by the city, this park is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
